Manchester United won’t let Antony go in January

Antony, 23, is rumoured to be leaving Manchester United. But the Brazilian will not be allowed to leave in the middle of the season, according to reports.

On September 10, Manchester United announced that Antony would not return to the squad after an international break.

The reason was that he was accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend. The 23-year-old has always maintained his innocence.

Two weeks later, Manchester United announced that the attacking winger is once again available to play.

However, Antony has struggled to find his form. He has neither scored nor assisted in twelve competitive games this season, eight of which were starts.

Lately, he has been linked with a move. Among other things, it has been rumored that Flamengo want to loan Antony.

Now, Football Insider writes that Manchester United will turn down all bids for Antony in January.

The English giants feel that they already have a shortage of attacking players and want to keep the Brazilian, at least for the rest of the season.

The situation surrounding Antony could be reassessed in the summer, when Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who is expected to buy 25 per cent of the club, has had time to warm up.
